Wadhurst United Junior Football Club

Match Report

Match Report - 02 Oct 2011, Wadhurst United Junior Football Club Team not current beat Hastings United Colts

Although Wadhurst dominated possession for most of the game this was a laboured performance, the unseasonly hot conditions did not help but then again nor did our profligacy in front of goal. Chances came and went in the first half but the Wadhurst defence always looked solid when Hastings did break.

Nerves were settled soon after half time when Dom hit a superb 20 yard shot past the Hastings keeper, who it must be said had a fine game. Ross Jefferies playing in goal today was a spectator for most of the game and Mike and Jake in the centre of defence even had the chance to push forward. Callum ran tirelessly in midfield and Rory played well when he came on. When the second goal came it was a scrappy affair but it was a first for Tim Haywood in a Wadhurst shirt.

Ross 'Woody' Woodruff came on in the second half for his debut and looked lively. It was pleasing to see the full backs, Harvey and Carlin, push on and overlap and deliver some good crosses. MotM went to Carlin for a fine performance at left back.
