We are a local grassroots football club and aim to provide football at a variety of levels for our members enabling them to develop their football skills, make friends and have fun in a structured, safe and positive environment. We welcome both boys and girls from U5's to U18's.
All coaches are minimum FA Level 1 qualified with the associated First Aid, Safeguarding and DBS requirements. All parent helpers and first aiders also hold a current DBS.
A REVIEW OF 2020/2021 ...
2020/2021, as with 2019/2020 season, will be remembered for the stop-start season as a result of Covid-19, however we were able to offer football training and matches for almost two-thirds of the season to our 15 teams from U7s to U18s and our development group of U5/U6 players. We are grateful to the coaches, club volunteers, parents and players who all had to adapt to different routines and requirements in order to ensure as safe and environment as possible in light of the challenges. The Club is also grateful to the efforts of the Crowborough League in providing fixtures for the remaining part of the season enabling our players to take part in matches once again after a 3 month+ break.
Wadhurst launched our 'FA Wildcats Centre' in May for Girls' football training, which proved popular with around 30 girls aged 5 to 11 taking part.
We were also able to hold a scaled-down Presentation Day for the Players, which was a great success.
LOOKING AHEAD TO THE 2021-2022 SEASON ...
This season we will be providing football coaching and matches for approximately 200 members, with 16 teams entering the Crowborough League from u7s to u18s. We also continue to provide training for our development group (Reception and Year 1).
With several players on the waiting list for our U7s group, we are looking for a further coach to become involved to enable us to enter a third team into the league at the end of this year.
We will continue to offer and hopefully grow the 'Girls only' Wildcats football training section and with the re-introduction of Girls football into the Crowborough League this season, are looking to enter a couple of teams in the near future if we can attract additional coaches.
The Club would not exist without the many volunteer coaches, parent helpers, committee members, Saturday helpers, referees and Sponsors, so a big 'thank you' to all those who come forward and become involved in the club. We are always looking for more volunteers, particularly Level 1 coaches, or those interested in doing their Level 1 which the Club will support, so please let us know if you are interested.
PLAYER REGISTRATIONS
As a village club, priority for places, particularly in the Minis section, is given to those who live in Wadhurst, adjoining villages or already have a sibling in the Club.
VOLUNTEER COACHES
The Club relies on volunteer coaches to run it's teams and we are always looking for more coaches, male or female, who are interested in helping out or becoming involved. As a Charter Standard Club we have certain requirements to meet and without further coaches coming forward we are unable to develop further teams and/or increase the number of players to whom we are able to offer football. If this is something you would be interested in becoming involved in, or would like to do your FA Level 1 qualification, we can support you with this - minimum age is 16 - please contact us to discuss further. All courses are currently online with course details available on The Boot Room | Coaching, Interviews, Courses (thefa.com)
