Match Report - 08 Nov 2008, Wadhurst United Junior Football Club Team not current drew with Sevenoaks Town
A brave performance from the 16 players who travelled to Sevenoaks for this challenging fixture. The boys played good football in cold, wet, windy conditions on a heavy pitch against our most difficult opponents to date.
The Wolves struggled to come to terms with the conditions in their first game. They came up against a good Sevenoaks team whose top player performed magnificently scoring four in the first half. The Wolves didn't give up but eventually lost 6-1, our first ever defeat. They lifted themselves for the second match and despite having most of the possession they couldn't break through a resolute Sevenoaks defence. Special mention has to be given to our top defender in the second match: an outstanding performance from JJ who let nothing past him, leaving poor Dominic in goal with nothing to do. The match ended 0-0.
The Wanderers kept up their own unbeaten record with 3-0 and 2-0 victories. They thrived in the difficult conditions and comfortably won their first game. The second game proved a little tougher, facing a confident Sevenoaks team. However, with Fraser shutting out Sevenoaks' star player, the team won two nil. Once again, Archie Collett was the top goal scorer. Special mentions to Ben Coffill and Albie Marber who made their debut appearances.
And well done to the 12 Wasps players who turned up for a damp training session at Sparrows Green. All the players worked really hard under the leadership of coach Ive.
