Match Report - 04 May 2008, Wadhurst United Junior Football Club Team not current lost to Ringmer Rovers
This was a disappointing end to the 2007/08 season. Its fair to say that the players went into the game with a little trepidation as our two previous matches against Ringmer resulted in heavy defeats and we had to play the match without Michael and Callum. However, the team put in a great defensive display in the first half and were perhaps a little unlucky to go into half-time 1-0 down.
There was a real feeling going into the second half that we might pull off a great result, especially when Ross L nearly levelled things following one of his trademark power runs through the Ringmer half and with it remaining 1-0 with 20 mins to go things still looked good. Ringmer's quality then came to the fore though with a couple of well taken goals and sadly this led to heads dropping and a last 10 minutes which I'm sure everyone would rather forget.
I'm sure the players would agree that we can't have a Man of the Match in a heavy defeat, but Reece got the Performance Award for another improved display.
