Match Report

Match Report - 12 Sep 2015, Wadhurst United Junior Football Club Team not current beat Hastings United U13

A winning start to the season at the new ground at Lamberhurst. The only downside is Luca suffered a serious injury and could be out for a couple of weeks. The Rosenburgs were like the walking wounded with Dad Terry in an arm sling! Here is to a speedy recovery to both!
We went 1 up after about 7 minutes with Charlie scoring the first goal. Two silly mistakes in defence saw Hastings go into the lead. This was very much against the run of play. We hit the post a couple of times and some excellent saves kept Hastings in the lead. The team were not to be stopped and Joe scored the second just before half time.
Robin rotated the team and this kept the boys fresh. Everyone was playing a part and the new boys Charlie,Max,Joe and returnee Jude were all contributing. The back 4 of James,Sam,Teddy with Max were solid and playing a good line.
The second half saw Dan C go between the posts and he had a great second half maintaining a clean sheet. Isaac and Chris were starting to buzz and had some great runs.
The 3rd goal was a peach with Frankie holding up the ball and giving off to Freddie who played a lovely through ball to Lars who maintained his composure and slotted past the keeper. It was a thing of joy and brought the crowd to their feet.
The team had several chances to put the match away but the Gods were not with us. One or two anxious moments but stout defending-James made several telling tackles.
Well done all a true team performance.
