Match Report - 06 Oct 2007, Wadhurst United Junior Football Club Team not current beat Lingfield
Another impressive performance from both Mars and Mercury.
Mars were unlucky not to win both games only being beaten by two good Lingfield keepers and a couple of sucker goals. Dan O'Neill played his socks off and must have run miles on our large mini pitches. Dan scored all 3 goals with some spectacular individual runs. The team again were solid in all positions with some great passes which split Lingfields defence appart.
Mercury first Game 3-0.Sam Bruce scored the first goal from outside the area after it was cleared from a corner, James scored the second from a move between him, Sam & Harry, about 7-8 passed finished with him sliding in at the far post, the final goal was an own goal, but again after an interchange of passes between the three of them & a cross that the defender deflected into the goal. 3-0 at half time. Second half very even & both keepers (Fred for us) made some good saves.
Second Game 1-0. Sam F scored mid way through the second half after their goalkeeper parried James shot. Very even game either side could have won, Joe & Sam at the back were fantastic.
Man of the Match. James Anstee, his work rate & interplay with Harry in both games was great, but everyone contributed to two good wins.
