Match Report - 25 Sep 2011, Wadhurst United Junior Football Club Team not current beat Hastings United Pumas
This was a tough Cup match against a strong Hastings team from the B division. Although Wadhurst dominated possession for much of the fist half and created a number of chances, Hastings always looked threatening on the break. Ross Lennox on his debut used his strength and pace to create chances but it took a penalty by Sam F to make the breakthrough.
Hastings came out determined in the second half and soon equalised although it was Wadhurst that again dominated for long periods. Sam F put us back in front from a good cross from Ross J but again Hastings equalised. Harvey and Ross L were combining well down the right and Wadhurst wasted several good opportunities. Murrie, Callum and James were dominating in midfield and gave way for Ross and Rory to take over and Harvey came on to replace Sam Evans. Sam F won another penalty and stepped up to complete his hatrick and then saw his cross turned into his own net by the Hastings keeper. Hastings still looked dangerous on the break although Luke was never really troubled in goal,finally a tap in from Mike late on sealed the win and passage into the next round of the Cup. Both our full backs Harvey and Carlin had good games as did Ross L, but MotM went to Sam F for his 4 goals and superb all round performance.
