Wadhurst United Junior Football Club

Match Report

Match Report - 18 Oct 2009, Wadhurst United Junior Football Club Team not current beat Tonbridge

Another lovely Sunday morning, the weather and team spirit were sweet..

This was a difficult fixture, Tonbridge were hungry and strong from the start.

Wadhurst stepped up and played some truely great football. The fist half had plenty of chances that simply did not hit the goal. Tonbridge scored on 20 min, a deflected shot. Thomas Colley, played his heart out in goal.

The second half was similar to the first, loads of pressure flowing football but no goals! Then Dan, playing up from the U11 for the first time due to flu taking three of our squad, scored a peach. 1 1

Tonbridge came back hard and pumped a high ball into the sun, Tom spotted it well but the sun and firm bounce just took it to his finger tips, it bounced on his goal line and with back spin ended up in the net. 1 2

The final 10 mins saw a change in formation as wadhurst chased the match, true team spirtit and hard work resulted in four sweet goals. Full time 5 3

Man of the match Tom Colley, goalie. Without Tom's performance we could not have won.

Tonbridge stretch wadhurst and asked some hard questions, well played Tonbridge.

U12's are now top, played 4 won 4 GD +25
