Match Report
Match Report - 31 Jan 2009, Wadhurst United Junior Football Club Team not current beat Hailsham United
Wadhurst started their second 11 a side match with a great work rate. We put good pressure on the Hailsham goal which resulted in Sam Harvey finding the back of the net. We all played with great skill and Fred soon scored another. Tom Colley, in goal, made a brilliant first save from a strong Hailsham shot. Jim then played a fantastic ball up the left wing to Kieran who worked some space and crossed into the box for me to slot the ball in the back of the net. The rest of the fist half was even with Wadhurst leading 3-0 at the break.
Playing down hill in the second half, Wadhurst dominated the play and in quick succession scored a string of goals as a result of good passing teamwork using the wings to our advantage. Ben scored twice, I scored once and our new signing Sam Grinham scored on his debut, well done to the whole team.

The team held their 4 4 2 formation well, the back 4 played a high straight
line often catching Hailsham offside and we only conceded one offside at the front, which is good given it was only our second match. The passing and running into space was lovely to watch and resulted in a great game of football. Both wings were used well to create space in front of Hailsham's goal. The work rate (fitness sessions are working already )and tackling were excellent. The coaches are all very pleased with how the boys play as a team in the 11 a side format.
