Match Report - 16 Feb 2008, Wadhurst United Junior Football Club Team not current lost to Tonbridge Junior FC

Mercury – 1-1, 2-2

Harry scored a penalty, that gave us a good start, and the confidence to play well. They came back, and scored, but it was a good game. We drew 1-1. In the other game, their team was very confident, having beaten Mars, but again, we had a good start when they put in a home goal. They levelled, when our concentration lapsed, but with some great teamwork, we got the ball to Toby, who headed in the ball, for a great goal. Again they equalised, but with the team exhausted, we were pleased to end(2-2) with 2 draws, against such strong teams. The whole team were given man of the match

Mars – 6-0, 6-2

On the 16th February Wadhurst under 9's played one of the best teams in the league, Tonbridge Juniors. The first half got off to a bad start with them scoring 2 goals. We stopped them scoring any more with our brilliant defense and goalie. Ricky and Henry in defense and Angus in goal. The second half began and we fell apart and they scored 4 more goals, they won the match 6 - 0. The second match started and they scored a good goal when Jonny passed it from defense and Luke scored to make it 2 - 1. They scored another good goal and at half time it was 3 - 1. They score two more then Jonny scored a fantastic free kick. The second half saw an amazing change in the way we played and we played some brilliant football with loads of shots at goal. If we had played like that the whole game it would not have finished 6-2. It was a good challenge - but not good enough. Henry and Dan played their socks off and deserved man of the match.
