Match Report - 04 Nov 2007, Wadhurst Junior Football Club Under 16's lost to Ridgeway A
This was always going to be a difficult match, drawn as we were against Division A opposition and the task was made harder with three Wadhurst players being unavailable on the day.
Ridgewaye proved to be as strong as expected and applied relentless pressure from kick-off. However, the score was 1-1 after 15 mins thanks to resolute defending and a well taken goal from Ross L. Unfortunately, Ridgewaye were then able to capitalise on a string of defensive errors and poor general play and went to half-time 5-1 up. The second-half was similar and a number of the Wadhurst players may feel that they could have done better, although Ridgewaye must take credit for some excellent play, which shows clearly why they are 2nd in the top division.
Despite this heavy defeat, Murrie, Michael and Ross L can take credit for strong performances with Murrie just shading it for the Man of The Match Award.
