Match Report - 22 Jan 2012, Wadhurst Junior Football Club Under 16's lost to Rye Bay
Wadhurst were beaten by the better team on the day, we were not up for this game as much as we should have been and our general play and committment was flat. The result now pretty much hands the league title to Rye as I cannot see any other team taking points from them.
We started brighly enough and just shaded the first 20 mins when Louis went one on one with the keeper to put Wadhurst ahead. However, Rye were looking more and more dangerous on the break and eventually equalised just before half time.
This gave Rye the confidence and this showed when they went ahead shortly after the break. A third breakaway goal sent the Wadhurst heads down and we could not seem to show any energy, urgency or response. Defensively we were poor today and a forth goal followed. James came on for Murrie and Ross L for Woody and this helped and it looked like a quick free kick had got us back into the game but for some reason the referee disallowed it. Sam E replaced Harvey and Ross L did pull a goal back but this was followed immediately by another Rye goal.
A disapointing game and result which leaves Wadhurst now playing for second place. MotM went to Louis.
