Match Report - 16 Oct 2011, Wadhurst Junior Football Club Under 16's beat Sevenoaks Town

A great team performance against a strong Sevenoaks Town team, this was probably the best 80 minutes of football that Wadhurst have produced this season. Both teams wanted to get the ball down and play and this provided some entertaining football.

Wadhurst gradually took control and began to create chances with Louis and Woody constantly making runs up front. Woody in particular was unlucky, hitting both bar and post. The breakthrough came when Callum took his chance, he then also hit the post before Sam F hit the second just before half time.

Wadhurst continued to dominate midfield in the second half, James, Callum and Murrie all getting their heads up to pick out the telling passes. Louis soon fired home and shortly after Sam was brought down for a penalty which he tucked away. Sam gave way to Dom who soon scored the fifth after being put through by Rory who came on for James. Sam E also came on for Woody who had run himself all over the pitch and always looked dangerous and was unlucky not to get a goal.

Although we looked better up front this week I was particuarly pleased with the defence who were solid throughout, Mike and Jake were strong in the centre and fullbacks Harvey and Carlin alway looked to get forward. Ross J in goal didn't have a lot to do but as always handled well and gave confidence to the team. MotM went to Jake who was always there to clear up at the back and make his usual bursts forward. Well done guys on a great game!
